The work on my car was not only immaculate but fast, the car look likes new, and best of the service and the warm of everyone working there was a pleasant surprise. Really unpleasant, awful experience. My car was sideswiped and fully driveable; it was only cosmetic damage. The shop received payment about a week and a half before I even dropped off my car. I was told the repairs would take 7 days. Seven days went by and I received no call or update regarding my car. On the 7th day, I was told maybe by Wednesday at the latest and that I would get a call back the next day with an exact date. That never happened. On Wednesday around 5pm after still receiving no update, I called several times with no answer. I eventually received a call back from the shop and was told they were waiting on a mirror that was supposed to arrive Thursday. At this point, I still wasn’t given an exact completion date. Immediately after that call ended, Nelson called me and started yelling at me, telling me that he “saved my car,” that the car would be ready when it was ready, and that he would let me know. To clarify, my private appraiser, whom I hired, was the one who helped resolve the issue with insurance “saved my car,” not Custom Garage. They simply wrote an estimate for the repairs. Any repair shop would have done that. I was extremely taken aback by being yelled at as though I had no reason to be upset or ask for an update on my own vehicle. At that point, I no longer wanted to communicate with Nelson, so my fiancé handled communication moving forward. Nelson told him he would call back within an hour with an exact date and an update on the mirror, since that was supposedly all they were waiting on. That call never happened. On Saturday late afternoon, my fiancé went to the shop and was told the car would be ready by the following Wednesday. Wednesday morning, he called to confirm that we could pick it up and was told yes, they were polishing the car. He called again around 3PM and was told the car was ready and that we could come that evening or the following morning. I couldn’t leave work in time so I went first thing the next morning at 8AM. The car was nowhere near ready. I asked why no one had called me to let me know, and there was absolutely no accountability. Nelson simply shrugged and then started yelling at me again as if I had done something wrong. I finally received my car back on August 21st after dropping it off on August 2nd. The car is nowhere near perfect. I was given the keys to my car when it has multiple warning lights on the dashboard that were not there when I dropped the car off. I immediately brought this to their attention and was told the electrical person had already left for the day and that I could bring the car back Monday to have it looked at. This should have been caught during a proper final inspection before calling me and telling me my car was ready. Instead, I discovered the issue myself. To make matters worse, my car was returned to me extremely dirty. After 19 days, I finally have my car back, but I received it back with issues. The entire experience was an absolute nightmare. From the lack of communication, repeated promises that were never followed through, being yelled at for asking reasonable questions, being told the car was ready when it wasn’t, and ultimately receiving the car back with multiple warning lights on the dashboard. Imagine waiting 19 days to get your car back, only to receive it with multiple warning lights that were not there when you dropped it off. This should have been caught and addressed during a proper final inspection before they contacted me to say the car was ready. I genuinely wish I had gone to a different shop. Extremely untrustworthy.
